Neo-Mantras for Human Automatons is an image of a reproduced stock photo-style sun flare overlayed with the 3d text "Inhale, Exhale," commercially printed onto a PVC banner with metal grommets. The artwork was developed in conjunction with The Terminal: Human-Shaped Whole at anonymous gallery in New York in 2021, an exhibition that explored the future role of AI in relationship to working life. This piece expands on the ideas of Daylight Simulation but also responds to the aesthetics of inspirational banners often visible in press images of the interiors of Amazon Fulfilment Centers.
