Sublimation print on neoprene with rubber base

Daylight Simulation is an image of a reproduced stock photo-style sun flare commercially printed onto a neoprene-fabric mousepad with a rubber base.

The artwork was developed in conjunction with The Terminal: Human-Shaped Whole at anonymous gallery in New York in 2021, an exhibition that explored the future role of AI in relationship to working life. This piece comments on life at the computer, the worker's relationship to the natural world, and the role of automation in attempting to simulate those resources lost in a future world of AI workplace optimization.
